Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee approval?

No. No one can promise a planning decision, and we don't. Your local planning authority makes the final decision. Our job is to improve how ready and well-prepared your application is, and to flag risks before you submit. The planning-readiness score and comparable local outcome estimate are preparation aids — they are not a guarantee.

When do I pay?

Not on the website, and not before we've checked your project. The free check is £0 and needs no account. A human reviews your details first; only if your project looks suitable do we invite you to the £500 Founder pack. Payment comes after that suitability check — never before.

Are drawings included?

Yes — basic planning drawings are included where your project is suitable. These are the drawings that accompany a householder planning application. They are not detailed technical, structural or construction-stage drawings, and they are not the separate drawings used for Building Regulations. You can arrange those separately if your project goes ahead.

What projects are suitable?

We focus on simple householder extensions on houses — for example single-storey rear extensions, simple side extensions and straightforward wraparound projects. At launch we don't take flats, maisonettes, listed buildings, heavy conservation-area cases, commercial or complex cases. Every project is checked before it's accepted, and we'll tell you honestly if you're a fit.

What is excluded?

To keep the price low and honest, the pack excludes council fees and Planning Portal fees, structural calculations, Building Regulations approval and its separate drawings, party wall matters, specialist surveys, planning appeals, and any guarantee of a planning decision. You can arrange these separately with the right professionals. See full exclusions →

Why is human review required?

Because planning depends on local facts and judgement. Planning decisions rely on local facts, drawings, constraints and council judgement. ELI helps prepare and check your pack quickly and consistently, but a human reviews it before anything is sent or paid for. Human review is required before any paid pack is accepted.

What happens after the free check?

A human reviews your intake. We check your details and identify any missing information. If it looks suitable, we invite you to the founder pack. If we need more information, we'll ask you for it. If it isn't suitable, we'll tell you honestly — there's no obligation and no payment to start.

Can I see a sample pack?

Yes. Here is an illustrative example of what a homeowner receives — it uses made-up details to show the format. Your own pack is based on your site and answers, and is not a guarantee of any outcome. See sample pack →

What is ELI?

ELI stands for Enhanced Learning Intelligence. It's an early-stage prototype that helps our team prepare your pack faster and more consistently, always under human supervision. ELI is not a person and does not replace a planning consultant, architect or solicitor. It is not a substitute for professional advice.

What's the difference between the £99 Starter Pack and the £500 Founder Pack?

The Starter Pack (£99) is a lighter check to help you decide: a planning-readiness mini report, a missing-information checklist, the main risk flags and suggested next steps. The Founder Pack (£500) is the full, human-reviewed pack you can submit yourself — including basic planning drawings, a planning / supporting statement draft, the full planning-readiness score, a comparable local outcome estimate (indicative only), a risk / fix report and a document checklist. A human reviews every pack before it is sent.

Why is the Founder Pack £500?

It brings the whole preparation together into one human-reviewed pack — including basic planning drawings and a supporting statement draft. £500 is a fixed, all-in founder price for the first 100 users, about half the expected standard price of £1,000+. It doesn't include council or Planning Portal fees, it isn't a substitute for professional advice, and no planning outcome is guaranteed.

Who prepares and reviews my pack?

A real person on our team prepares and reviews every pack before it's sent to you. ELI helps prepare and check the information faster and more consistently, but a human is always in the loop — and nothing is sent or paid for without that human review.

How long does the Founder Pack take?

We confirm a timeframe with you up front, after the suitability check, so you know what to expect before any payment. Timescales depend on your project and how much information you're able to provide.

What if my project is not suitable?

We tell you honestly at the free check and suitability stage, and you pay nothing. We only invite you to pay once a human has confirmed your project is a fit for the pack. Payment always happens after that suitability and human review — never before.

Is the comparable local outcome estimate a prediction that I will be approved?

No. It's indicative context drawn from comparable local cases only — not a prediction of your decision. Your local planning authority makes the final decision, and no planning outcome is guaranteed.

Can I move from the Starter Pack to the Founder Pack?

Yes. If you start with the Starter Pack and decide you want the full pack, just tell us and we'll explain the next step. As always, a human reviews your project and payment only follows the suitability check.
